Lord is like a Sower planting true ideas from His Word in our minds. These truths teach us the way to heaven. But to grow, these seeds must fall into minds that are ready to receive them so they can take root and grow.
The sons in this parable is are like parts in each of us. At times we all do what is wrong. But like the father, our Heavenly Father gives us good and true things and lets us choose what to do with them. He hopes that we will choose to follow what is good and true in our daily lives.
True character comes out for all to see in the spiritual world. Good and evil people cannot live together and are separated. In this way the good are protected from any evil harming them.
The Lord came on earth a second time as the Spirit of Truth in the truths He revealed to Emanuel Swedenborg. The Lord showed him the hidden messages or “internal sense” of many parts of the Word. Now people can understand the deeper heavenly teachings of the Lord.

This prophecy of the peaceable kingdom taught the children of Israel that a future time of peace would come when there would be no enemies to fear. It also taught that a little child would come to lead them.
