Shepherds near Bethlehem kept watch over their flocks at night when the heavens opened and an angel stood before them. They believed the angel's message right away, went to see the baby Lord and spread the news with joy.
The wise men were wise because they were looking for the Lord. They knew that stars stand for knowledge of heavenly things. The special star they saw meant that the Lord had come to earth. They knew the best gifts to bring to Him.
Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the colt of a donkey because He was a King. People gathered to welcome Him. They waved palm branches and spread them in His path.
When the women came to the tomb early in the morning Jesus’ body was not there. The angels said He had risen. They ran to tell the disciples. Later, the Lord appeared to His disciples as they gathered together to talk about all that had happened.
The Lord appeared in a vision to the disciple John. He was on a throne in heaven. A sealed scroll appeared that no person could open. When it was time for the secrets inside to be revealed the Lord
Himself opened the seals.
Angels are messengers from the Lord. A mighty angel brought the light of the Lord’s truth in a comforting way. He had one foot on the earth and one foot on the sea to show that the Lord is standing near everyone no matter where they are.
The golden New Jerusalem stands for heavenly love. It is transparent like glass because the Lord shines through it into the life of the angels. Everyone in heaven receives this light, knows what is right and loves the Lord.
